Drone Reeds Setting up synthetic reeds takes time, both initially and over the first few weeks. With short blade reeds only make 'slight' adjustments to blade length and body length over a period of weeks after the initial set up. Ezeedrone supply four different size reeds --- the standard reed for most pipes, a Long Bass Reed for sharp bass drones (tuning too high), an Inverted Bass Reed for bass drones difficult to strike in, and a Short Bass Reed for flat bass drones (tuning too low). Set up for cane reeds are near enough the same as for Ezeedrone except diesregard the threaded screw, to make the reed tune higher or lower move the bridle, make the tongue longer to tune lower and opposite, reed will take more or less air. Cane reeds take longer to settle, so more blowing in and playing before they settle down. |
